PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Barabara’s Arch is an iconic skew arch dedicated to the Maltese capomastro Giovanni Barbara. The arch goes back to nearly 300 years ago and forms part of the Floriana lines that overlook the Marsamxett Harbour.  The arch also suffered extensive damaged during Second World War and unfortunately it was left unnoticed for years. However, in 2019 an extensive project of restoration and stabilisation commenced. Finally, this magnificent arch is back to its former grandeur and its needed facelift is well justified, since its one of the few that still stands in Malta.
